To make this an enjoyable time for all, we ask that you to follow the guidelines. Participating children and families please read the instructions below:

1.    If your child wants to participate in the Lucia procession, please message Johanna Gustafsson by Wednesday November 9th by 6PM at 941-504-2066

2.    Children must be at least 6 years old to participate, be able to stand still during the entire celebration and listen to instructions. If children are disruptive, we will kindly ask that they wait to participate until they are mature enough.

3.    The children need to learn all the songs and participate in the singing during the ceremony

4.    Minimum age to carry a lit candle is 13. Children under 13 will be using an electric candle.

5.    All participants must attend a minimum of 4 practice sessions. (Sickness doesn’t count of course) It has been 3 years since the last Lucia ceremony, and we are going to need all the time to practice that we can get.

6.    We have an assortment of white gowns that will be brought to the first 2 practice sessions only. You are welcome to borrow one of those. If you don’t borrow ours, you are responsible for getting your own. Please make sure your gown is washed and ironed for the celebration. Please wear white socks and tanned under garments that doesn’t show through the gown.

7.    If your child is sick - please stay home. Thank you!
